On April 1 we celebrate the memory of Saint Sophia of Slutsk and Minsk. Princess Sophia became a strong advocate for the rights of the Orthodox believers who were facing strong pressure from the confederate authorities to become Catholics or Uniates. On April 1, 1984, Princess Sophia was included in the Synaxis of Belarusian Saints. Her incorrupt relics are kept in the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk.
